Here using: Qt: 4.4.3 + qt-copy-patches-889120 KDE: 4.1.86 (KDE 4.1.86 (KDE 4.2 >= 20081221)) kdelibs svn rev. 902031 / kdebase svn rev. 902032 on ArchLinux x86_64 - Kernel 2.6.27.10 I can confirm this bug. The file dialog doesn't ask for overwriting the file. The file gets overwriting when clicking it in the file list (I have "single click" setting), or when selecting it (right click to only select the file) and then pressing "OK" (that should be a bug in kfile file dialog, but I haven't seen anything like this before..). Adding kdelibs to CC Hi Dario, I'm marking this as normal rather than grave because it will only affect a relatively small number of users in exceptional cases - I usually reserve 'grave' and 'critical' for things which affect a large number of users on a regular basis.
