Description RGBl 2008-11-24 10:05:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In openSUSE's kde 4.1.3 (but a user in the kde forum told me it is the same in trunk), by rotating the mouse wheel over the desktop you can switch between desktops. This behaviour is quite problematic when using a synaptics touchpad in a laptop, because the probability of issuing a "scrolling event" (right side of the touchpad) instead of moving the mouse pointer is high, leading to unwanted desktop jumps. Problem is that this behaviour cannot be disabled: there is no option to switch it off.
Features of this kind will never be complete without an option in desktop settings to enable/disable them.
In fact, in my opinion, this option must be _disable_ by default, and only used when the user really wants it.
Thanks.

I agree 100%. Using a touchpad with scrolling enabled is very difficult with this feature enabled. Unwanted jumps to other desktops are unavoidable.
This feature must be configurable and should be disabled by default.
