Reassign. I believe this is the qbackingstore issue in Qt and this bug may be closed/upstream. Yes, it really looks like bug 174065 . Have you tried the current patched qt-copy ? It doesn't always happen, and it's not specific to a particular folder. If I restart kmail, choosing the same folder will again cause a crash. If I restart kmail, create a new tab, and then open that same folder in the new tab, then kmail behaves as expected. The backtrace makes me think that this may be a QT related thing.
