Description FiNeX 2008-11-16 23:04:54 UTC
Version: r884981 (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Knotes on KDE 4 (current trunk) show all notes when it starts, even if notes has been hidden precedently.

1) start knotes
2) create a note
3) hide the note
4) close knotes
5) start knotes again, the note is not hidden.

I can confirm this issue.
Comment 2 Bernhard Derks 2008-11-21 15:57:13 UTC
I can also confirm. Its horrible, after closing them manually knotes crashes with

Fortunatly I don't have this crash too :)
Comment 4 Bernhard Derks 2008-11-28 17:00:24 UTC
Crash appears not every time, but every time after start i have to close ~40 notes...urrgh!
Comment 5 FiNeX 2008-11-30 14:59:08 UTC
@Bernard: the problem seems fixed on current trunk (>4.2beta1). If you're still experiencing this issue, please reopen it.
Comment 6 Bernhard Derks 2009-01-17 13:44:44 UTC
Jippie. Now it works proper.
Using knotes-4.1.96 now,
the versions before (4.1.85, 4.1.87) had still this behaviour with opening all notes.
Comment 7 Mauro 2009-02-12 08:54:16 UTC
I'm using knotes 3.9 and obviously I'm experiencing this bug.
Why isn't the fixed version in the official repos?
Comment 8 FiNeX 2009-02-12 09:26:19 UTC
@Mauro: please, try this: select one note and press ESC, repeat the operation for all visible notes on all desktop. Logout and re-login. Does the problem occour again?

It is an important test, I hope you can give me a feedback later.

Thanks!
Comment 9 Mauro 2009-02-12 09:34:30 UTC
Done. It works.
The problem occurs only with the right click on the tray icon, selecting hide all notes.
Comment 10 Hugh Urwin 2009-03-17 19:10:22 UTC
well as of 03-17-2009 knotes 3.9 is still showing all notes on the desktop when kde starts (4.2.1). I just tried the Pressing Esc "fix" but I cannot log out right now so the answer will have to wait. To me it is a bug but since to some people it might be a feature why not adding a checkbox in the default tab of Configure KNotes to allow the user decide if he/she wants knotes to show or do not show the notes at start up? By the way, the keyboard shortcuts are not working with me. Are they implemented on knotes for kde4? they worked alright on kde 3.x.x
