Description Nate Weibley 2008-11-16 20:09:21 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
Compiler: gcc 4.3.1
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

I'm posting this bug upstream because of the following report:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-keyboard/+bug/298062

I use a Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3000 keyboard.

When using a keyboard layout (specifically Logitech Cordless Desktop, Logitech Generic Keyboard, even Generic 104-key PC) via System Settings -> Regional & Language -> Keyboard Layout various keys on the Logitech keyboard cease to function or seem incorrectly mapped.

Some keys that I know do not work correctly are: Home, End, Delete, Pg Up, Pg Down, all arrow keys, print screen. There may be others that do not work that I've not noticed yet.

Reverting back to "Disable keyboard layouts" does not fix the problem until the session is restarted.

Same for me.
I use a wired Logitech keyboard on Debian lenny with KDE 4.1.3, and some keys are incorrectly mapped. For example, the Win key is mapped to Down arrow.

Is this still a problem. This was a very frequent problem in the beginning days of evdev.

This would not be a problem in KDE layout switcher, you may want to file a bug on freedesktop.org against xkeyboard-config.
