Actually I was right about to write a bug report about not being able to set the master control for the kmix tray icon. It defaulted to PCM with my new KDE4. And in the 3 months using it I tried several times to find a config setting to change it (in the assumption that it must be possible) and yet I failed... Just now, I accidently found it in the context menu of the tray icon... So basically everything is fine now.

However IMHO it would make a lot of sense to put that option also in the kmix main window where all the other configuration is to be found ;)
