Version:           kubuntu 8.1 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Compiler:           Kubuntu 8.1
OS:                MS Windows
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

Dual booting windows 98se and kubuntu 8.1. My set up works OK in windows. However, in kubuntu 8.1 my monotor suffers frequent closedowns and the monitor menu system becomes in-operable. Monitor is flat screen L7AK2.

What do you mean with "monitor menu system" ? The OSD integrated on the monitor?

How is this related to MS Windows or KDE? I guess you've found the wrong place to report a bug. Please, think twice if your bugreport is in the proper place and close it if it's not really about KDE.

I agree with Med, probably it is a problem on X config. Please try to report this issue on ubuntu launchpad.
