Changing session toggles the maximization status of the window

Description Miquel Canes 2008-11-01 14:57:49 UTC
Version:           3.1.2 (using KDE 4.1.2)
Compiler:          PPC
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages

Kate's window resizes when opens a new session.
Reproduce this problem:
1.- Open kate with a session
2.- Sessions -> new
( Now, kate's window resizes, smaller than before (like restore window size))

Here using:

Qt: 4.4.3 + qt-copy-patches-889120
KDE: 4.1.86 (KDE 4.1.86 (KDE 4.2 >= 20081221))
kdelibs svn rev. 903705 / kdebase svn rev. 903706
on ArchLinux x86_64 - Kernel 2.6.27.10

I can't reproduce this bug.
Can anyone else confirm this ?

Changing session toggles the maximization status of the window
Comment 5 Samuele 2025-07-19 16:28:42 UTC
The issue is very old but this way I don't create duplicates. I noticed that changing session actually works as a toggle for the maximization state of the window, or it toggles from the size the window had before (which happened to be as big as the screen) to a standard size and position.
Comment 6 Waqar Ahmed 2025-07-19 19:27:39 UTC
Please don't do that. Open a new bug.
