Sentry Crash Report:

Description Toralf Förster 2008-11-01 11:36:46 UTC
Version: Unbekannt (using 3.5.10, Gentoo)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.19

Even if I power down the backlight of my ThinkPad T41 (either with "radeontool light off" or by pressing Fn+F3) and wait some minutes until the KDE screensaver will be activated it powers on the backlight again - which foils my attempt to save power :-(
I pretty sure that 3.5.9 doesn't show this behaviour althought I'm not really sure.

I have a similar problem where by when the powersaver is supposed to turn the screen off the back-light stays on.

This is for a HP Compaq nc6000 laptop.

The backlight goes off when the lid is closed so not a bardware issue probably.
