Sentry Crash Report:

Description Antonio E. 2008-10-30 20:05:32 UTC
Version: 4.1.2 (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: MS Windows
Installed from: MS Windows

I've installed the version 4.1.2 of KDE in Windows XP, and there's no way to make digikam to work. It always crashes.

I've tried with both versions, the msvc and the mingw, with no luck.

In the msvc version, for example, it crashes while displaying the splashscreen, when it's saying scanning individual albums.

The debug window displays that the error is related to the ntdll.dll dependency.

Any idea?

The rest of applications from KDE 4.1.2 works nicely on windows, (well, except ShowFoto, which is also from digikam and it also crashes when trying to load an image).

I did not know that digicam was released at all...
Comment 2 Antonio E. 2008-11-06 10:38:07 UTC
But it is. You can get it using the windows installer for kde.

The problem persists on the just released kde-4.1.3.

I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Yes, there are still some bugs(even very bad ones) in digikam which will hopefully be fixed soon. Please be aware that the digikam in KDE 4.1.3 is the same package as in 4.1.2 so no changes have been made yet.

fix digikam crashes when trying to open png files under MSVC
I will close the following bug - we need a more precise bug report now.
BUG:173918
@digikam-devels:
It should be possible to remove the ifdef's and use this solution under Linux too. That way maintenance would be easier for me and you. Ideas?
