I would like to have a little button in slideshow mode to mark the pictures I want to print for example. 

Something like the star-button in google picasa.

This is basically duplicate of Bug 148434 - but probably better for workflow would be colors not rating. Colors introduction used to mark images was discussed in Bug 139465 and Bug 152424 .
