This one is definitively a job for KDE4 Gilles Caulier Too geewhiz. This is for a separate application. A much better way to implement this would be an application that generates new slides, using google earth for the map. Such an application could eitehr present each slide full screen, with the map inset, or put the map next to the screen. The user could independently zoom the map tot he desired view, size and placement. To me this would be a better addin for KPresenter. Lots of things in presentations can use a map.
