If the keyboard layouts in systemsettings are disabled, then I doubt this is a kde bug. Does this happen if you start another desktop environment? Or is it only in kde? Could you also paste the relevant keyboard section from xorg.conf? Thanks. PS: You could try this testcase. From a linux vt (hit ctrl+alt+f1 for example) shutdown any X session that you have (killall Xorg) and then, as root: # X :0 vt7 & <X will be displayed, switch back to the vt> # DISPLAY=:0 xterm & <switch back to vt7 with ctrl+alt+f7> try to type in xterm and see if the layout is correct. If it is not, then it's definitely Xorg's fault. (to get out of this, kill xterm and Xorg) Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.
