Using the alt+left mouse button method to resize Kmail's main window (or even a new message window) will select the FILE menu as if i had just pushed the alt button.  The window does resize fine but there's been a few times when i hit reply to a message then resize it then if i hit enter a couple of times because i think i'm moving the cursor the message just sends because i actually selected FILE > SEND.

That is a window manager problem nothing we can do anything about in KMail. 
alt+left mouse button does move the window here btw. However if you press 
the mouse key longer than the alt key that does not happen.
