Description Christoph Lange 2008-10-18 21:23:28 UTC
Version: 1.10.1 (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24-tuxonice-r4

KMail suddenly started to delete all mails in a folder of a disconnected IMAP account (my GMail inbox). I could stop this before losing all mails from that folder.

Obviously I can't reproduce that bug, but what I remember is that KMail was/is quite unstable anyway (doesn't always terminate correctly), and that before this incident I had lost information about some of my accounts. I restored this information by stopping KMail (but I didn't check with "ps" whether it had really terminated), copying my old kmailrc from KDE 3.5.9, and starting KMail again (it started without complaints).

Later on the same day, that folder was wiped. No other folder was harmed, and luckily I didn't subscribe to the folder "all messages".

Oh, BTW, the messages in this folder were displayed sorted by date (oldest on top, newest at the bottom), and the deletion started with the newest messages.
