Version:           1.1 (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7) 
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-19-generic

Open dolphin application, select the home directory and pick a tar file, then click it.
The tar file is unpacked, then move the mouse on 
left panel (resource panel) and click the home label.
At this point dolphin crashes and shows a "Fatal error" message

Thanks for the bug report. So far I'm unable to reproduce this. Maybe it's related to bug 172364.

I agree that this bug is related to 172364 bug.
In fact it is a particular case of 172364 bug.
