I can reproduce this bug (see bug 172760 comment 3) I can still reproduce this bug using: KDE 4.1.3 or KDE: 4.1.85 (KDE 4.1.85 (KDE 4.2 Beta2)) kdelibs svn rev. 896844 / kdebase svn rev. 896844 with Qt: 4.4.3 on ArchLinux x86_64 Can anyone else confirm this ? This bug is still there in 4.3.5. Some additional details: This only happens when in the Preview mode. Pulling up Properties on the affected folder shows the correct icon on the custom icon button, and moving away from the Preview mode also shows the correct icon in the folder's location. But as soon as Preview mode is active again, the icon reverts back to the previous one, even though that PNG file no longer exists on the system. Hi, Please confirm that this issue is still present in that latest stable KDE version. Thanx, Mark As of two weeks ago before my HD died, it had improved. The png still did not update immediately. I could switch from Preview to Icon and back again - the Icon view would have the updated png, but the Preview icon was still the old png. However, after at least one re-start of Dolphin (sometimes several re-starts) the Preview icon would finally switch to the new png.
