Version:           1.3 (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler:          cc
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27-4-generic

Kontact is unable to display properly the dates, it is displaying dates like "DD.10.YYYY"
 It append in kmail and in tasks...
 I'm using intrepid Beta, kontact 1.3 for kde4

I just tested with today's Kubuntu live cd:
 * Boot livecd with french
 * Changed country in systemsetting's regional settings to france
 * Changed the date format via the dropdown menu to DD.MM.YYYY
 * Opened Kontact
 * Attached to an imap server
 * Dates were parsed properly

Sorry but its not because you don't have the problem using the livecd that this bug is resolved or invalid !!! hello !

Can you go to system settings and see what formats are you using?

What country/region is set in the System Settings? Is the "Short date" shown correctly in the System Settings under Country/Region & Language?
