Version: 1.2.9 (using 3.5.9, Kubuntu (hardy) 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu7.1)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24-19-generic

Kontact (or KMail) doesn't automatically set the outgoing mail server as the default delivery method -even when there is only one outgoing mail server to choose from. Perhaps I created this bug since my incoming accounts are different than my outgoing mail server.

The result of behavior then is that you need to select the send via option or the email just sits in the outbox until you manually send it.

Once you go into the account and set the only outgoing account to default -the email are sent as expected. The other option would be to warn users when they set the default delivery method to "Send Now" -warn that there is no default SMTP account. To me it seems like if there is only one choice -that it should automatically be set to the default account or allow the user to set which account is used for the "send now" functionality.

I believe it is not possible in KDE 4.3 to have no default - can you confirm?
