Could you also provide us a backtrace of the crash? Make sure you read these instructions, though, before submiting a backtrace: http://techbase.kde.org/Contribute/Bugsquad/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

Hi George,

Thanks for responding.  A backtrace isn't usually necessary to debug ASSERT failures since they include the file and line number where the crash occurred.

For someone ignorant of the codebase (like me) it is useful to know where this code was called from, but if you can figure this out, then I guess a backtrace is not needed. :)

Any news on this ? Have someone else be able to reproduce this assert failure crash?
