To display additional information in the map view, 
it would be nice to have a tree of kml files
(including network links, like panoramio etc.)
which are then displayed via marble.

Technically, this tree could be saved as a kml
file which is passed to marble for display.

One issue to be discussed: where should this be placed
visually within digikam? 
One option might be to embed the worldmapwidget in a 
QTabWidget with [Map][Places] as Tabs
(This would allow for additional Tabs, like [Searches] etc.).
