Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

In Kopete from KDE 3, the contact list icons are no larger than the line of text of the contact's name. In Kopete from KDE 4, the contact's non-protocol icon is huge, wasting a lot of screen space, and I can't find any way to change it.

In 4.3.0 you can modify the layout of the contact list, removing the non-protocol icon.

Its not the non-protocol icons. The status icons built-in Kopete are huge, and take up way too much space. Also there is no option to edit their size. This was not an issue in KDE 4.2

Found solution! Go to Settings -> Configure... -> Contact List -> Layout

Select "Compact" under layout name.

Apply and enjoy!

Fixed in KDE 4.3. We allow adjusting the size of the contact list icons.
