The slideshow option doesn't seem to work.
To reproduce:
- Go to the KDM kcm module in systemsettings
- Turn off "Use Themed Greeter" in the "General" tab if it is checked.
- Go to the "Background" tab, check the "Slideshow" radio button.
- Click the setup button and set up the slideshow by adding a few pictures.
- Switch users or whatever, just get to kdm somehow.

What you'll get:
In my case I got a pure blue background.

What you should get:
A nice slideshow. :-)

KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.

SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5. If you still have this same issue with SDDM, please file an issue on the SDDM bugtracker (after doing a search for existing issues first!): https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/
