Can you still reproduce this bug again with a recent KDE version ( 4.1.3 / 4.2beta1 / 4.2svn)? Thanks :) Anyway it should be assigned kdelibs (open file dialog) If you switch to detailed or list view, you can resize the name column, in icon view mode the position of the ellipsis appears to be hard coded Created attachment 28954 [details]

As you can see the test of the directory is cropped, although there is no reason to crop it at that point
