Description Rafał Malinowski 2008-09-24 15:57:12 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
Compiler: gcc version 4.1.2 (Gentoo 4.1.2 p1.1)

OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

When any page has a horizontal scroll bar the vertical scrolling of page is slower than for pages without horizontal scroll bars.

When 'Smooth scrolling' is set to 'Never' this problem is not very visible, but in other cases ('Always' or 'When efficient') I prefer to launch Firefox for some pages...

I am using:
- Konqueror 4.1.1
- Qt 4.4.1
- xserver 1.3.0
- Option "Composite" "Enable"
- no compositing in kwin

It's a Qt bug, you need 0248-fix-qwidget-scroll-slowness.diff
available in KDE's qt-copy/patches/

I'm working on a turnaround to disable smooth scrolling in the "When effficient" mode when the bug is detected.
