For reproducing:
1. In KDE Menu Editor, I define an application launch with the setting "Run in terminal" and an alternative icon.
2. On launching this new menu item the application is started with a konsole "between this", where the chosen item appears for the konsole. A ps -auxw gives me a 'konsole -caption ... -icon ...' for this.
3. In this constellation, if I launch another standard konsole even without defining an alternative icon for it, then the icon of the above 'konsole ... -icon' (see 2.) is taken instead of the default one for konsole. The same happens on launching further konsoles, their icons are not reset any longer.

I would expect the pre-defined icon for the second konsole window instead of using a cached icon of the first one.

Hello,

I think this is a side-effect of only using a single Konsole application for all of the windows so it isn't looking at the --icon argument when you open a new Konsole window.  Should be fixable though.

Hi Robert, you are right. It happens only on opening the subsequent konsoles from the KDE menu. Entering 'konsole' from within another interactive konsole gives the right icon back.

So it looks like this is not necessarily a konsole issue, but where does it belong to, to Plasma, or KDE Menu Editor?

Hi Rene,

It is a Konsole bug.  You'll see the same result however Konsole is launched, apart from when it is done from a terminal.

Any update here available? Happens still in KDE 4.2.0 (OpenSUSE 11.1).

And still occurs on 4.3.2 (Kubuntu Karmic).
