here are two dupe candidates: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170461 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=167826 Exact use case how to reproduce this crash with KDE >= 4.1.1 is useful. Sorry, I don't know. It's obvious that it had something to do with the configuration files (not just "~/.kde4/share/apps/konqueror", but possibly somewhere else as well) as deleting ~/.kde4 and restoring a backup solved the problem. Sorry I couldn't be of much help. Good news! I reproduced the crash.
Changing the stylesheet in Settings --> configure Konqueror --> Stylesheets in any way will make it crash when you enter the URL, "~/" (I haven't tried it when closing the window, but I've a sneaking feeling that was what caused it as well).

I managed to reproduce it in trunk rev. 870090 once using the instructions in comment 3 and got a crash with the same backtrace. The failed assert konqueror: /home/kde-devel/kde/src/KDE/kdelibs/khtml/misc/loader.cpp:1612: static void khtml::Cache::clear(): Assertion `!crash' failed. is reported in Konsole. It's not 100% reproducible so far for me, though. Once I also got a crash on close after changing stylesheets. Note that bug 166541, bug 164345 look related. *** Bug 177120 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 177063 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I tried the steps from comment #3 several times with trunk but - unfortunately - I cannot reproduce the assertion. Valgrind shows no problem either. I can't reproduce this any more either. Web pages refresh with the new settings in place and navigating to the home directory/closing the window doesn't crash it nay more. Consider this fixed. |

I'm not sure if the two cases above are the same bug or not, so I loaded them both.
