Description Dotan Cohen 2008-09-08 09:06:27 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

The KDE translation teams do an amazing job- my family would be unable to use KDE without the hard work the Hebrew translation has done. However, whenever there are errors that I must google or post to a mailing list, my translations back to English are often inaccurate. Therefore, one cannot google an error message and often it is difficult to describe the situation in mailing lists and IRC.

I propose an option where, in the case of error messages only, the user can get the error in English (for google and mailing lists) as well as in his native language (so that the user himself will understand). The GUI mechanism that I recommend would be the Details dialog in popup windows. The error would appear in the user's native language, and below in addition to the OK and Cancel buttons would be a Details button that when pressed would give the exact same error message, but in English.
