I have 2 accounts under the same protocol and both accounts have the same contact name. One account is hidden from my contacts to see; when I open the chat window for that contact, I do not know which account I am contacting them from. 

I would like to have a option to select from which account I contact my contacts from.

Also, when I hide an account, that setting is not permanent after closing kopete.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
