Version: (using KDE 4.1.0)

rename "mkdir" to "make directory"

Since there is copy, move, etc. I don't see any reason not to use proper term "make directory" -- after all Krusader is not a bash. And this looks odd for non-geeks, and make translators life only more difficult (in polish the term is "utwórz katalog" so what we should see? "utkat"? nonsense).

There's tooltip, but still sounds good.
Comment 2 Alex Bikadorov 2017-05-27 08:14:24 UTC
I can only disagree. It's called "mkdir" because this is the name of the unix binary to create directories. This is also the name in all other twin-panel managers beginning with Norton commander.
It is not supposed to be translated.
And "make directory" is way longer than any other FN key label.
