Description Roman I Khimov 2008-08-30 11:51:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Looks like KDE4 version of kppp is unusable currently, because it can't authenticate itself to remote system. The problem is, kppp doesn't give pppd any password, not it "password ..." option, nor in pap-secrets file (maybe also relevant to chap authentication, but not checked).

KDE3 version adds record needed to pap-secrets, so I guess it should be the same for KDE4 version. If you add appropriate line to pap-secrets, KDE4 kppp will do its job fine, but, well, that's why we need kppp, to not mess with strange files in /etc. :)

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!

I don't think I'll be able to reproduce it (I don't use kppp anymore), so let's just close it.
