Description Richard Boyce 2008-08-29 22:38:04 UTC
Version:           3.5.9 (using KDE 3.5.9)
Compiler: gcc version 4.3.1 (Debian 4.3.1-9)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages

Hi,

KDVI is not correctly rendering files created using LaTeX with the following version information:

$ latex -v

pdfTeX using libpoppler 3.141592-1.40.3-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.6)
kpathsea version 3.5.6
Compiled with libpng 1.2.27; using libpng 1.2.27
Compiled with zlib 1.2.3.3; using zlib 1.2.3.3
Compiled with libpoppler version 3.00

I tested the rendering of two dvi files in both KDVI and XDVI and both files are rendered incorrectly in KDVI. Specifically, the bottom margin is completely lost on all pages of the document.

Interestingly, this problem is also true in a pdf viewer when I convert the DVI file to pdf using dvips then ps2pdf. If I convert the DVI files to PDF using dvipdfm they render correctly. My system is using GPL Ghostscript 8.62 (2008-02-29).

Please let me know how else I can help with finding the bug.

Try viewing this file in KDVI version 3.5.9 and compare with XDVI 22.84.10

kdvi is no longer maintained since KDE SC 4, and its functionality is replace by okular. If the issue in this report still exists in or apply to okular in KDE SC 4.10.5 or higher, please reassign the report to okular product or create a new report against okular.
