The location of the "Quit" item in the system tray right click menu is badly placed.

During right clicking to access the menu, if there is system lag or the mouse is moved, it can result in the Quit item being triggered. This is an issue because from personal experience I can say it's the most common way to start a new e-mail.

When the issue occurs i requires reopening KMail, and in my case reentering the keychain password which can be time consuming and inconvenient.

My personal feeling is preferably there would be a null item at the bottom of the menu to avoid any accidental triggering of a menu item.

Have encountered this too, it's very annoying.

The suggestion "have a null item at the bottom of the menu" would look odd and may not even be technically possible.  Maybe a better solution would be to do as Akregator does - have a "Confirm quit from system tray" dialogue with the usual "Do not ask again" checkbox.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.

This means that the wishlist still applies to kmail2, thanks. Moving the bug. 
The commit landed in 4.8.0 (according to git).
