mkisofs 2.01 is not what you see here. This line is only a fake for too clever
GUIs and other frontend applications. In fact, this program is:
genisoimage 1.1.8 (Linux)

Comment 2 Bohan 2008-08-17 05:43:08 UTC
Just realised I was trying to use a volume id with more then 32 characters is K3B. K3B did not give a warning, but when I try to use genisoimage directly, I get:

genisoimage: Volume ID string too long

This is all during creation of DVD-Video filesystems / discs.

Could K3B's ignoring of this restriction have caused errors during the fixating process, hence triggering write error at 99.9%?
Comment 3 Bohan 2008-08-17 05:45:16 UTC
by the way, the volume id (disc label) I entered in K3B (which accepted it) was:

2008_OLYMPIC_OPENING_CEREMONY_1_OF_3

When you try this with genisoimage, it does not proceed and throws the error in above comment.

Hi,

My question is not specifically related to the bug you describe.

I recently purchased a Pioneer DVR-215 SATA burner for my system, but the unit does not work at all in my system. Driver tries to talk to it, there is an error (see below), then the dvd drive is not recognised after this.

Could you please tell me what Kernel version you are running you seem to be having more success with the drive than me?

In an attempt to clean up old bugs that are not valid for K3b 2.0 (=KDE SC 4.x port) anymore, this is now being marked as UNMAINTAINED.
If this bug is still valid for 2.0, please reopen it.
