Description Matthew Woehlke 2008-08-16 02:25:01 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

The current delete files confirmation dialog could use some design love. Specifically, it almost always shows me only the first bit of the path of the file names, which is the least interesting part. Either the dialog should be resized (up to, say, 50% screen width, maybe even more on small displays) so that the whole file name is visible, or else automatically change the horizontal scrolling to strip the shared path elements. We could even show the common path in the prompt text somewhere and show only the non-shared path components in the list. But we really should do better than the current behavior that frequently shows me the (long) directory I'm in and nothing at all of the file names.

(Apologies if kdelibs isn't the right component, the dialog seems to be shared by gwenview/dolphin/konq, so I'm thinking it must live in the bowels somewhere...)

(Hmm... anyone want to point me at the relevant code?)

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have resolved this bug.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
