Version: (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

This is a feature request that was originally filed against dolphin - bug 164312 - but it should be filed against kdelibs instead, so here we go.

When working with the new tab feature in Dolphin a few features seem missing, that are present in Konqueror's tab bar implementation. One of them is the way you can open folders in new tabs:
When you drag and drop a folder from the current view to empty space on the tab bar it would be opened in a new tab and switch the active view to this new tab. This is currently (KDE 4.1) not implemented in the new tab bar dolphin uses, but still works in the tab bar Konqueror has.

Additionally in Konqueror you can duplicate a tab in a similar way. When you drag and drop one of the currently opened tabs to empty space on the tab bar a new tab is created with the same content as the original tab.

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
