I have 3 identities defined

nevertheless the sender identity is greyed for all (IMAP) folders.

Uncheck the "Use Default Identity" checkbox, that works for me.

Thanks I see now - but IMHO why do we need the check box?

wouldn't it be sufficient to have the combo box - 
eventually with names + (default) like in the identity settings.

IMHO selecting from the combobox should override the checkbox

The +(default) is the problem here, that is not easily done since support from 
the identities library is missing.
