I tried using a smaller font (e.g. PakTypeNaqsh). Now there are unused borders on the left and right of the clock. This is quite suboptimal, as the clock itself now has a reasonable size, but it still takes more space than necessary. *** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** I set my clock to display 24-hour format, and it still takes up just as much horizontal space as it does with the 12-hour format. And to think I could have saved space on the bar if it wrapped. :( I'd like to add that it would be nice if when it's on the desktop I would like the ability to resize each dimension independently. The old aspect ratio was decent, late in the 4.2 beta cycle it was made more square and it wastes a lot of space above and below the text. I'll attach a screenshot later. i think having a configurable maximum size for the contents would solve the problem. Created attachment 32891 [details]
Digital Clock plasmoid wastes space on a vertical panel.
We have discussed this option on the plasma developers list and decided this option will not be added to the standard clock widget. Instead we will seek to resolve the issues with the auto-sizing code. |
