Version:           0.50.1 (using KDE 4.0.5)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

After simply changing an option in the (german version) "Verhalten -> Ereignisse" dialogue kopete crashes all the time. I saved the crash file, maybe it can help you.
Additionally I wasn't able to select the proper KDE version. Kopete says "Version 0.50.1 under KDE 4.0.3 (KDE 4.0.3)"

This bug is fixed in the latest version of Kopete coming with KDE 4.0 and 4.1. Please upgrade if possible. Otherwise you can (as a workaround) switch the application language (Help menu) to english before making changes to the configurations, afterwards switch back.
