Test case:
First ensure that your webcam works in kopete. 

1 Open kopete
2 Go to Settings -> Configure ...
3 Select webcam (Video) tab
4 Disconnect the webcam
5 Crash: 

* Qt version : 4.4 from qt-copy
* Last update of KDE (KDE 4.2 >= 20080709).
* Installed gspca module on Linux 2.6.26-1-amd64 #1 x86_64 GNU/Linux

this is a driver bug. the driver does not report the proper error code when disconnecting the device while it is in use. It's also a duplicate of 117537
