Description Dhaval Patel 2008-08-06 19:38:38 UTC
Version: 0.50.80 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

With the auto spell check feature turned on, Kopete checks the word as the user is typing each letter, I can see that because it is red. When typing the word "something" it will turn back after you have "some" and red again when you add the "t". Perhaps it would be more appropriate if the spell check and take effect after the user adds a non alpha numeric character (space, comma, period).

reassign this to kdelibs?
Comment 2 Nick Shaforostoff 2008-12-12 19:11:00 UTC

Comment 3 Dhaval Patel 2008-12-13 00:02:11 UTC
What is "well yes"?
Comment 4 Nick Shaforostoff 2008-12-13 00:43:46 UTC
this bug belongs to kdelibs.

I just installed KDE 4.4 in Kubuntu 9.10 via PPA packages and the behaviour still has not changed. Should we remove this bug somehow (mark it as resolved) and create one in kdelibs or does this bug already belong of kdelibs?
Comment 6 Dhaval Patel 2011-06-08 14:42:54 UTC
I am using Kubuntu 11.04 with KDE 4.6 and this is still not fixed. Is anybody going to even look at this?
Comment 7 Christoph Cullmann 2024-09-14 16:18:20 UTC
Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann

I opened this bug 16 years ago. I stopped using Linux/KDE and have switched to MacOS. I do not have a way to test if it is still an issue.

Thank you for finally closing this bug. Tickets like this should have been closed long ago if they were not going to be worked on.
