I'm used to Kate on Linux, and first I did in this Windows-only environment was to get kate, for its great auto-completion. Glad, KDE's on Windows now!

But there's an issue with auto-completion in Windows Kate.

On Linux the auto-completion drop-down list immediately gets drawn, once the pre-selected number of chars of a word were entered. So, familiar to auto-completion as I am, and used to what's in the buffer, I often just type the first few letters of the words, then hit Enter to get them completed. 

However, on the Windows version of Kate, there is a significant delay between typing and the moment the list appears, so typing the first few letters, then hitting Enter fails: The list simply is not yet there when I hit Enter, so I don't get the completion, but instead enter the next line. [Which, as a side-effect of not only getting the word not completed also demands me to re-find the cursor on the screen (inexpected reaction, hence I need to look around first).]

So, what to do? Now, to get auto-completion I regularly wait for the auto-completion to get drawn. That is an delay of approx 1 sec per word. (Okay, I don't use this for short words, but anyways, it is an innecessary delay compared to Kate on Linux. And, IMO one sec per word is a lot.)

So, I'd appreciate a lot if you could improve Kate to skip the 1 sec delay. -- At least, you could offer an option that allows to disable the delay.
