Version:           1.86 (using 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0), 4.1.0-2.fc9 Fedora)
Compiler:          gcc
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.11-97.fc9.i686

It works to show albums under various artists, but when trying to do not show the album under various artists does not work. The right-click-menu does nothing.

The code to remove the album seems to be missing =/

Ill try to get it implemented.

Workaround to allow to show NOT under various artists that worked for me: select affected tracks in the playlist -> right click then "edit track details" -> even a simple space in the comment tag -> "Save & Close", Well done! now the album is not displayed under various artists.
