This was originally a wish for kwrite but actually I think it would apply more generally to all editing of remote files via ftp (or shared files in general).

When I open a remote file for editing (e.g. a script in Kwrite) and save it back to the remote server it would be really cool to have konqueror check the "last modified" date on the remote file and warn me if the file had been modified since I opened it. This would stop people trashing each other's work by accident. In effect it would be a very simple "checkin" system for shared files.

I don't know if this is possible or easy to implement but it would be a neat feature. Possibly this should also be a kdelibs bug rather than a konqueror - excuse my ignorance.

Hello

This is high on my list.  I am going to see if I can get a very preliminary support
for HTTP only for now soon (perhaps 2.1).  Beyond that we are planning to support
an even more extensive protocol called WebDAV (www.webdav.org ).
So stay tuned... :)

Works for me in KDE Frameworks 5.45 and Kate 18.04!
