Description Carl Roth 2008-07-16 09:59:55 UTC
Version: kdebase-workspace-4.0.5-3.fc9.x86_64 (using KDE 4.0.5)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

My system is set up with a left-hand pointing device, requiring a button remapping using systemsettings. The pointer button settings are list when the system resumes from suspend.

This bug has been kicking around the Fedora bugzilla at

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442250
  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=455545

and it's been suggested that it's due to an API change in xorg.

I can confirm this in KDE 4.2.0. Very annoying especially if the laptop has a slow touchpad since the speed settings aren't restored too.

I always have to open systemsettings and apply the mouse tab.

At least my problem seems to be fixed in a newer Ubuntu version (Jaunty) so it might be distribution related.

Given we set X settings it's a good chance it's been fixed by an X upgrade.

I've not seen any other reports on this in the past few years so I'm going to assume it's no longer an issue. Please reopen if it is
