Description Luciano Leveroni 2008-07-12 06:01:08 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

There's a "little" graphical glitch when resizing Kickoff when Kwin desktop effects are enabled. The menu disappears (and appears) completely while doing the resize. Also, the resizing is noticeably slow.

I'm using KDE 4.1 SVN (from 4.1 branch, not trunk). If it helps, I have an Nvidia card (6150 onboard) and I'm using latest binary drivers.

I can confirm the behavior on my desktop with my nvidia 7600GT on SVN r831172, but don't know if this is a kwin bug or an nvidia one.

either way, it's not a plasma bug. it's probably a graphics driver bug, but i'll let the kwin people have a go at it.

Does this still occur on latest trunk? Please attach your ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc . Works fine for me on nVidia.
Comment 4 Luciano Leveroni 2008-12-16 17:06:16 UTC
No, the graphical glitches are gone :) Resizing is still very slow, but it's slow in every other window also, so not a Kickoff problem.

There's another report for slow resizing somewhere, but that too is a driver thing.
