Thanks for the report! The feature you want is a critical one, and I agree with you. The reason it doesn't exist (yet) is simply because the playlist view is not finished. When it is finished it will have (among other things) sorting and filtering capabilities. Rather than change this bug to LATER, I'm going to leave it open, because this feature is important enough to go into 2.0. Great to hear. I hoped this was the case, but I figured it was better to let you know just in case. Casey, we mark bugs as NEW when we are recognise the issue :) While this issue may be important enough to seem like it should be in before 2.0, it's technically complicated enough that chances are we won't see it until 2.1, or a 2.0.something. The playlist needs a good bit of rewriting already, and that should happen before we try to hack more stuff onto the current headache. As we've discussed at Akademy, we're not going to reintroduce the filter as this encourages mis-use of Amarok. We'll be implementing some sort of inline search function instead. So is there at least going to be some way to quickly and easily find a song in your playlist? Yes. That's all that matters. Thanks. This has been implemented now. |
