As I understand it, a global identity is to identify one user with all his accounts. Hence it seems logical that the accounts created should be able to be related to a global identity. It follows too that there should be an icon available on the toolbar to easily change the global identity. When a global identity is changed the associated accounts are shown in the lower part of the window.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
