Ever had it when someone gives you a chunk of information -- be it a date, an address, contact information, their time zone, etc -- and you need a way to tie this to them other than searching through MB or even GB of IRC logs for that one, precious line of info? Wouldn't it be easier to store this information directly inside your IRC client, attached to the user, rather then rely on [your] memory or external notes (files, papers, whatever)?

A dialog box to store and edit notes for a specific user would be extremely useful and convenient. The information could/should be stored in plaintext files to make for easy offline viewing / editing, as well as easy backups (goes right along with their konversation settings then). This dialog should be accessed from the context menu of the user from either the channel or the user list of a channel. Something like:

Right Click the user > User Notes...

When that's clicked, an editable text dialog box shows up. Whether or not there are Save/Close buttons or just one Close button or w/e doesn't matter... How ever the KDE UI guidelines say it should be would probably be the best way.

At this point they can copy, edit, paste, write, delete... just generally edit this information in plaintext. (or if you wanna get fancy and store it in XML with fancy richtext stuff, that'd be kind of neat... a WYSIWYG editor... anyway)

I'm sure many of you can think of many uses for this as developers. Which app is that person porting atm? (I'm looking at you KDE4Windows people :D) etc
