Description Jay LaCroix 2008-06-27 02:19:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.0.83)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

On my machine, an Acer Aspire Laptop, I set my multimedia keys with the keyboard shortcuts menu underneath Keyboard & Mouse in System Settings because KDE4 doesn't recognize them by default.

I choose to edit "Decrease Volume - Front, HDA Intel", "Increase Volume - Front, HDA Intel", and "Toggle Mute - Front, HDA Intel" to program the keys manually so I can use my special keys to control the audio. This works great, until I log out and then back in, and I have to set these shortcuts every time I start KDE4.1 Beta 2.

In Kde 4.0.4 I did not have this problem at all, it remembered my settings.

I'm pretty sure this is the same issue as bug #163946
